Well it would appear it was a good thing I already had this page nearly finished considering how many people forgot that the beginning of this story was about why she cut her hair. First people forget the promise and then the hair cutting. Strange.

Anyways, here is yet another page. I'm not likely do to any art tomorrow for I have other things that need to be done. So I'll continue this next week.

I tell you it is not easy finding reference to someone sitting holding a pair of scissors like that... Had to do the entire pose from memory while holding scissors to get it to look right, but still it was a pain in the ass. I hope I don't need to draw more people with scissors... crap I do... *sighs* Well that is for another day.

Well Enjoy.

The Characters and story of Inside OUt is copyright of Kathryn K Williams, Please do not copy in any way.

If you find any errors or typos please tell me so I can fix them quickly. I have no Betas on this project so please forgive me.

I'll take my hair.... AND CUT IT!

Sorry, but the uber-dramatic SNIP panel just made me think of that scene.  XD

It is supposed to symbolize the whole Japanese culture of feeling cutting ones hair when disgracing ones family and at the same time freeing herself of the roles she has been placed in.

Hmm... neat layers of symbolism.  I'm studying Native American Literature right now, and they often use hair-cutting as a symbol of mourning.

Seems every culture has different meanings of this one action, which does show how different cultures can be. I spent way to much time studying lesbian culture in Japan more than anything else and weaving it with my knowledge of lesbian culture out West. There are a lot of interesting and usual things I've learned about over the years, much of which isn't as apparent to most as other things.

either she is an expert hairdresser or she is about to experience a supremely bad hair day

Cutting her hair herself with no mirror in sight, oh dear, this isn't going to end well, is it?

Doing it yourself never works out well in the end.

Most thought that was what she was going to do. It was more dramatic that way.
